DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS proudly presents A State Level Online Symposium – Mathema 22-v 6.o. This is a flagship event organised by the students of the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Humanities and Sciences, Dr. MGR Educational and Research Institute. The event was conducted in Google Meet.
The symposium is conducted to bring together the students and professionals from various institutes, universities and industries on a common platform to share their ideas and thoughts, pertaining to the theme of the event.
The event was beautifully hosted by Dr.R.Nagarathinam, Assistant professor. A warm welcome address was given by Dr. T. Johnson, HoD/ MATHEMATICS
Followed by Genesis of Mathema delivered by Mrs. C. Final Jophila , Assistant professor, gave a brief note about the symposium conducted in previous years. The chief Guest Dr.G.Uthra, Assistant Professor of Maths, Pachiappas College, Chennai has delivered the beautiful session on ” Careers in Mathematics” which was highly informative. Winners list was presented by Mrs.Jesselin Jeba. Finally Vote of thanks was given by Dr.R Nagarathinam, AP,Department of Mathematics.
There were 6 events conducted both technical and non technical with a total registration of 100 plus. I take this opportunity to thank the judges who despite of their busy schedule and love for the department joined us to grace the events. Let me start by thanking Dr. Ezhilarasi, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics, for judging poster presentation Dr. P.Sona Dept of Mathematics for judging Mathematical Modelling. On behalf of the Department of Mathematics, we extend our heartfelt thanks to our Honourable President Er.A.C.S. Arun Kumar Sir for granting us permission to organize this event. We extend our gratitude to Higher authorities for their enormous support in organizing this symposium. Last but never the least, I thank particularly , Ms.C.Finil Jophila Mrs. Jesselin jeba and other Staff members for training and guiding the students.
My report wouldn’t be completed with out thanking my lovely students , who is behind the success of this event. They are the strong pillars of the department. I thank almighty God for making today’s event a resounding success.
