The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and Oral Microbiology, Thai Moogambigai Dental College and Hospital , Dr M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute conducted a National level CDE Program and Workshop on “Forensic Odontology” under the aegis of the “Indian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathologists”on 27.01.26. The program featured two eminent speakers Dr Jaisankar P Pillai BDS, MSc (Forensic Odontology), PhD, Govt Dental College, Ahmedabad and Dr Dinesh K Kumar, Associate Professor, Dept of Oral Pathology, SRM Dental College, Ramapuram.
The event kicked off with the lecture 1 on “Dental Age assessment in Forensic and Medico-legal cases” by Dr Jaisankar P Pillai followed by second guest lecture on “Forensic toxicology meets Dentistry – How Teeth reveals secrets long after death” by Dr Dinesh T Kumar. Afternoon session featured a workshop on “Dental Anthropology and Dental Age estimation” conducted by Dr Jaisankar P Pillai. The event was conducted under the able leadership of the Joint Registrar, Professor and Head, Department of Oral Pathology Dr Nadeem Jeddy, Organising Chairman and President of IAOMP. The event was compered by the Organising Secretary Prof Dr Radhika T and Postgraduate Dr Poornima Kamatchi.
The event witnessed an overwhelming response of 145 registrations from various Dental Institutions across Chennai and the participants were highly enthusiastic.
