The department of ECE, conducted the 19th National level technical symposium Kalam’22 entitled DIGITRA. The event took an extravagant leap right from choosing the theme DIGITRA. in which DIGI refers to Digital image processing, T refers to Telecommunication, R refers to robotics and A refers to Artificial Intelligence. The Event poster was officially released by our Honorable president through an innovative student project “IOT based automatic screen opener”.
The inauguration of the symposium commenced on 19th September at 10.30 am with Tamil thai valthu followed by the lighting of kuthuvilaku by the dignitaries. The welcome address was delivered by Head of the department Mrs U. Jayalatsumi followed by the Presidential address by our respected Provost Dr G. Gopalakrishnan. The keynote address was presented by our Rector Dr. Vishwanathan. Dr. V Cyril Raj Additional registrar delivered the special address. The brief overview of Kalam was shared by the student secretary Mr. R Jayaprakash. The Chief Guest of the event Padma Joythi Dr. G. S Ayyapan, Senior Principal scientist, CSIR was introduced by Event Coordinator Dr. S. Anandhi (Assoc. Prof/ECE). The inaugural address was delivered by the Chief guest who highlighted the significance of the various emerging technologies and emphasized the importance of scientific research after which he declared the event open.
The Two – day technical symposium event was planned with 12 events both Technical & Non Technical Events.
All the events witnessed enthusiastic participants and eminent judges who contributed to the accomplishment of the event. The two – day symposium had 800+ participants from various departments and universities.
The valedictory function commenced on 20th Sept 2022 at 4pm. It was hosted by final year students Ms. Shravya and Ms. Keerathana welcoming the guest of honor Mr. Samuel Raj, ECE 2004 – 2008 batch, Designated as Zonal Manager OASYS Cybernetics Pvt. Ltd., The event report was presented by Event coordinator Mrs. S Elakkiya (Assist. Prof/ECE). Dr. L Ramesh felicitated the guest of honor with the memento and the shawl, and shared his valuable views about the event. The guest of honor delivered the special address and motived the students for the survival in the immersing digital world, followed by the prize distribution ceremony. The event concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr. K Sudhaman (Deputy Head/ECE).
With the support of dynamic participants, epic judges, innovative faculty and student coordinators KALAM’22 DIGITRA emerged as a GREAT SUCCESS. The Department whole heartedly thank our Honorable President for his constant support and all the executives for their continuous encouragement in organizing the event.
