The Rotaract Club of Dr. MGR E&T in association with The Literary Seminary and The Rotary Club of Mogappair organized a 2-day English For All (EFA) session for the students of V. P. U. Middle School, Sector – 9, Mogappair West, Chennai On 3rd and 4th December 2021. The Inauguration commenced at 10:30 am with the invocation of Tamizh Thai Vazhthu followed by the Welcome Speech by Mr. Mohammed Ismail, a Student Member of The Literary Seminary with the presence of the Chief Guest, Dr. L. Ramesh, Joint Registrar EPA, Dr. MGR Educational and Research Institute, Mrs. Amudha, Head Mistress of the V. P. U. Middle School, Rtn. Sivadoss, President of the Rotary club of Mogappair and IPP Rtn. T. V. Radhakrishnan, Chairman Literacy, Rotary club of Mogappair. The Head Mistress of the V. P. U. Middle School, Mrs. Amudha honored Dr. L. Ramesh, Joint Registrar EPA, followed by, Dr. L. Ramesh, Joint Registrar EPA honored Rtn. Sivadoss, president and IPP Rtn. T. V. Radhakrishnan, Chairman Literacy of The Rotary Club of Mogappair. The Chief Guest of the event, Dr. L. Ramesh, Joint Registrar EPA, gave his inaugural address addressing the importance of basic communication skills in English. IPP Rtn. T. V. Radhakrishnan, Chairman Literacy, Rotary Club of Mogappair encouraged the students to learn in his Introductory Speech. The Day-1 Session of EFA commenced at 11:00 am in which 80+ students from the V. P. U. Middle School, Sector 9, Mogappair West, Chennai participated. The main objective of this event was to make the students improve their communication skills and get a better understanding of English. Volunteers explained the importance of the Basic and essential communicative skills to the students. Volunteers introduced themselves and students beautifully took it to their heart and gave their introductions in English. They very much liked the step-by-step process of learning. To improve their speaking skills, Students were taught and then asked to answer a few questions. All the students gave their best thoughts in answering the questions and got to know that anything can be achieved if they try. Students were given passages to read and volunteers were helping them in understanding and speaking the contents of the passage. Basic English conversations were played and the students were asked to listen carefully and write the conversations. This helps them in listening and understanding the conversations and writing them helps to memorize the conversations. Students were presented with the format on how to write a formal letter and were given various reasons to write the letter. Many students came forward and wrote many letters. The Students took notes of what they learned to continue learning English skills. Finally, The session ended with Positive feedback from all the students and faculty and Mr. Ismail, a student member of The Literary Seminary proposed the vote of thanks for the inaugural session.
