Greetings from the Department of Mathematics,
We are happy to share the report of the Two days Faculty Development program organised by the Department of Mathematics titled INNOVATIVE ONLINE TEACHING METHODS using ICT Tools held on 18/12/2023 & 19/12/2023. In Day 1, The Event was started with a welcome address given by the Department Head, Dr.T. Johnson. The Introduction of the Resource person, Dr.S. Athithan, Assistant Professor, Dept of Mathematics, SRM Institute of Science & Technology, Chennai was given by Mrs.P.Divya, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Mathematics. In his talk, Dr.S.Athithan elaborates on the theoretical framework behind the online Mathematical Software’s. He further enlightened about the various ICT tools available for Online Teaching, in particular, tools for creating quizzes and lecture notes. He also explained how to choose a particular ICT tool according to our need and further explained how to integrate various ICT tools in a common platform to enhance the Online Teaching methods.
In Day 2, He recollects the things which was delivered on Day 1 and also give a hands on training on how to use the various ICT tools namely Nearpod, Geogebra, slido, quizizz, scratch, Dosmos, canvas++, Xournal, wordwall etc.,. The lecture as well as the hands on training was very much useful to the participants for their academic and research activities. He also clarified the questions raised by the participants. The program ends with the Vote of thanks was given by Dr.R.Nandhini Devi, Asst. Professor, Dept of Mathematics. Our sincere and heartfelt thanks to our Hon. President Sir for his constant support and encouragement. Thanks to Mrs.A.R.Lakshmi Priya Asst.Professor, Dept. of Mathematics for compering the event. Thanks to the Event coordinators Dr.R.Nandhini Devi, Asst. prof & Mrs.P.Divya Asst. prof and the Event Manager Dr.R.Nagarathinam, Associate Professor.
