Faculty of Architecture feels delighted to share the report of a talk on ‘India’s NetZero Emissions Target: Role of an Architect’ organized on 09/01/2023 at 11.00 a.m. for both B.Arch and M.Arch students. The speaker for the session was Ms. Sriranjani Srinivasan, Associate Vice President of Technical Development for Global Network For Zero. She introduced the topic by defining climate change and how it is addressed globally by the COP summits. She went on to explain India’s commitment towards NetZero Emissions and the ‘Panchamirt’ proposed by India at the COP 26 Summit. The speaker smartly addressed the use case scenarios of how architects can contribute towards the nation achieving the said target of NetZero Emissions by 2070. She also spoke about the various techniques of construction that can help address the embodied emissions of buildings. The talk concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session.
