The session of day 3 began at 2.00 pm on 22nd June 2022, holding 648 participants across the globe. The session kicked off with the inspiring keynote address of Dr.Malini Pandey, Additional Registrar, Planning and Development, Dr.M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute. Her thought provoking speech motivated the listeners.
The resource person for the session was Dr.Vijayakumar Mallappa, University Librarian, Pondicherry University, Puducherry. He made a clear picture of the importance of referencing, the two main parts of referencing, and the tools available online for managing references. The major focus of the session was Mendeley – a reference management tool. He clearly explained the theoretical aspects of the tool. He then gave a practical demonstration of downloading and using the tool. The method to import the references from the Mendeley referencing tool to a word document and the different styles of referencing available on the Mendeley tool were briefed.
