The Faculty of Law, Dr MGRERI organised a 19th Special Lecture on Legal Safeguards for Women in India on 28th February 2023 between 11.30 a.m and 1 p.m at Smart Class Room. The speaker of the session was
Dr M.Razia Parvin, MA(His.), MA(Socio.), MTM, MA( Women Studies), MPhi.,PhD, who is working as the Head, Department of Historical Studies, Queen Mary’s College, Chennai. The speaker elaborately discussed on the various steps taken by the different organs of State in order to uplift and empower the women in India. As the condition still remained unimproved and there is no satisfactory result she highlighted the need to show social responsibility to resolve the problem related to women and also reminded us to join together to fill up the lacunae existing in the Legal system. The session was initiated by Assistant Professors of Law Department, DR MGRERI, Mr M .Shankara Pandiyan and Mrs Anitha O.S. The students and members of the Faculties of Law participated, engaged and interacted in the session in such a manner which literally was beneficial for the students in all respect. A special thanks to our Director Dr N Murugavel and Dean Prof. Dr. K Murugadoss for their noble and gracious presence on the occasion and for extending their warm support throughout the conduct of the session.
