On the occasion of “Constitution Day” on 26 Nov 2022, Faculty of Law organized an online Lecture on “Constitution day” by Ms.G. BANUPRIYA BE., ML., (Ph.D), Practising Advocate at High Court and District Court.
The session started with welcome address by Ms.Lavenya 3rd Yr(LLB(Hons).

The speaker gave us a broad view on how Constitution faced challenges, amendments and changes as a draft and was presented by B.R.Ambedkar in the constituent assembly on 26th NOV 1949 and came into effect on 26th Jan 1950 which is observed as Republic Day.
The speaker also gave an information that the original Constitution is preserved in Nitrogen filled glass case at Parliament House in New Delhi.
The speaker then briefed role of the Constitution and also shared the information that the Indian constitution is the world’s second longest active constitution for a sovereign nation, having 395 articles in 22 parts and 8 schedules at about 145,000 words.
The speaker also shared the details of how some of the important provisions from other constitution were adopted from other countries.
The salient features of constitution was elaborately explained.
The session concluded with brief over view of mini constitution and its importance in Judiciary and relevance for Judicial exam.
