After the lunch, the session started with the topic “Benefits & Harm” by Dr. Princy Palatty, Head Curriculum Development, Kochi. The take home points were, protection against the vulnerable victims of the society. TABULA – activity was played, the participants were made into 5 groups, and the teams depicted the VULNERABLE population. It was a very interesting & mindblowing performance by the participants. The session continued with the topic “Institutional ETHICS COMMITTEE” by Dr. Sreekumar, National faculty training, Kochi. The role of the committe and the 7 members of the committe, who are chair person, from any other institution, member secretary from the same institution, medical scientist, clinician, legal expert, social worker, lay person and an optionally a subject expert. The ethics committee will function to justify Right vs Wrong decision & situation. The quarum is the count of the number of members present in the EC meeting & if the minimal number falls below 5 the quarum fails. The session followed by the next topic “CASE BASED TEACHING & LEARNING” by Dr. Karthick, National traning faculty. CBL is all about to promote discussion of prior knowledge, encourage, co-operation, collaboration, meditation, on a negotiation, promote discussion for understanding, promote self-direction and interdependence, promote research & inquiry and foster discerning judgement of resources. This method has been shown to produce greater learning gains than didactic lectures. The participants lot with great knowledge gained & to prepare for the next day.
