Sir CV Raman journal club has organised a talk on “MGR Research Engine and Patent Drafting” to facilitate Heads of the department and faculties to gain knowledge on MGR researgence and the ways of drafting patent. The session was made through a discourse with heads and faculties to facilitate all of them to collect the publications and patent details of the faculties, scholars through the MGR research engine portal. This idea was put forth in action by Dr. Ramesh. L, joint registrar (Events, publications and alumini).

The talk has been organised on 3rd December at 2:30 pm. Sandhya. A, Assistant Professor initiated the event with short welcoming note for all the dignitaries, deans, deputy deans, Heads of the department and faculties. Followed by welcome address by Dr. V Sankarraman, Dean (journals & publications – Medical and Dental). Dr. Ramesh.L Joint regsitrar (Events, Publications and Alumni) has given a short introduction about the talk that is been organised and the utility of the portal for all the heads and the faculties. Followed by our chief guest, Mr. Cedric Manuel, Founder and CEO (Inteligence Services Private Limited). He has given a wide informative knowledge about MGR researgence. How heads and faculties of the departments can access the portal for retrieving data’s regarding publications under MGR educational and Research Institute as well as non-MGR paper publications and also the patents drafting.

He also explained about the various icons in the portal and the usage of it for collecting the data’s. Our guest further demonstrated the new ideas that have been used in modifying the portal which made all the head and faculties to gain accessible knowledge on the MGR research engine. Further, he explained the retrieval of profiles of scholars and their publications. Later, the discussion was made open forum with participants, various participants made their doubts gets clarified. The session turned to be more informative and knowledgeable for the participants who have attended it. This discussion came to an end with vote of thanks given by Dr. G. Yuvarani, Associate professor, Faculty of Physiotherapy.
