The department of Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Office of International Relations & Collaboration Cell proudly reports the Day-3 (12.11.21) of Japanese Endowed Course (JEC), a joint governmental initiative of the Govt of Japan and Govt of India. The participants of Day 3 JEC includes four instructors from Hiyoshi, ten students and coordinators. Day 3 was hosted by Mrs.Clevita.E.Mascarenhas, Hiyoshi Corporation, Japan.
Report on Dr MGR – Hiyoshi Japanese Endowed Course (JEC): Day 3 : Session 1 (09.00 am to 10.10 am). Mr.Naohiro Tsukiyama, Hiyoshi Japan, handled the first session on the topic “Outline and principle of analytical measurement”. He broadly covered the significance and purpose of measuring of pollutants from the corporate aspect. The lecture explained the main principles of preparative, weighing, thermal decomposition, extraction of water and waste water samples.
Report on Dr MGR – Hiyoshi Japanese Endowed Course (JEC): Day 3- Session 2 (10.10 – 10. 50am):
The session was handled by Mr.Panna Paul from Hiyoshi India on the topic “Indian regulations and standards applicable to companies in which he covered Indian standards for parameters like CODcr, BOD, TSS, pH, T-P, T-N, etc.
Report on Dr MGR – Hiyoshi Japanese Endowed Course (JEC): Day 3- Session 3 (11.05am – 12.05pm)
In this session, Mr.Toshiyoshi Nakata, Hiyoshi Japan, explained about main measuring devices for measuring standard items applicable to enterprises. He explained the types and principles of pH meters, atomic absorption, ICP, gas chromatography, ion chromatography, etc., on the topic “Analytical Measurement Device”.
Report on Dr MGR – Hiyoshi Japanese Endowed Course (JEC): Day 3 – Session 4 (12.05 – 1.15pm)
In session 4 Mr.Tsukasa Yamamoto, Hiyoshi Corporation, Japan explained about Data compilation and evaluation methods on the topic “Summary of Measurement Data and Evaluation Methods”. He covered broadly, on standard items and standard values applied to enterprises using representative items from among the items indicated by analytical measurement methods.
The sessions 1, 3 and 4 was explained in Japanese language which was interpreted by Mr. Sundaram in English for the benefit of our students.
