AICTE TRAINING AND LEARNING (ATAL) ACADEMY ONLINE FDP ON AUGMENTED REALITY & VIRTUAL REALITY 4TH TO 8TH OCTOBER 2021
REPORT
DAY – 1
The event started at 09:45hrs.
Welcome address was given by, Head of the Department of Mechanical Department Dr. K. Rajan followed up with an inaugural address by Vice-Chancellor Dr. S. Geethalakshmi.
Introduction of the event and our University by Joint Registrar by Dr. M. Ganesan. Dr. K. P. Karunakaran, Professor at IIT, Mumbai and the chief guest of the inaugural session was introduced by Deputy Head of Mechanical Department Dr. A. Manoj Babu.
Inaugural session got over after the Chief Guest talk, with a vote of thanks by Dr. K. R. Vijaya kumar, Deputy HOD and Co coordinator of the FDP.
Session-1 on, INTRODUCTION TO AR/VR GEOMETRY FOR AUGMENTED REALITY was delivered by, Dr. K. P. Karunakaran. The primary defining characteristics of VR, inclusion and immersion was elaborated in detail and participants showed lots of curiosity with variety of queries.
Session-2 Dr. Angad Raghavan, started his session on TOOLS FOR AR/VR` SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE REQUIRED FOR AR/VR CHALLENGES IN AR/VR* at 11:50 hrs.
Session-3 Dr. K. V. Gangadharan, Prof, Dept of Mech Engineering, NIT, Suratkal, started the session by 2.30 pm. His topic on ROLE OF AR/VR IN EDUCATION, was enthralling to all the participants. There were lots of interactions, in all three sessions.
DAY – 2
Session-4 Introduction of the Speakers, Dr. M. Sridevi, Prof Trichy, NIT, Trichy and, Ghanshyam Warke and Naishadh was done by Mr. A. Srikrishnan at 1110 hrs.
INTRODUCTION TO BLENDER AND MODELLING of 3D OBJECT USING BLENDER with an additional demo was provided. It was a nice educative session, presented by Dr. M. Sridevi. Lots of questions were raised and clarified.
Session-5 A live session using Oculus on welding workshop by done by the guest speakers, Ghanshyam Warke and Naishadh.
INTRODUCTION TO UNITY and another hand on training session on GOOGLE CARD BOARD was presented with lots of passion by Dr. Amit Kamra from Ludhiana. Second session got over by 0130 pm.
Session-6 The final session was delivered by Dr. Subhasis Bhaumik on THE ERA OF AR & VR: TECHNOLOGICAL REVOLUTION & APPLICATION AREAS and was followed by hands-on training session on development on Target image acquisition using UNITY software.
DAY – 3
Introduction of the Speakers, Dr. Pradyumna Panikker and Dr. Venkat Alluri at 0932 hrs and Dr. Subhasis Bhaumik by Mr. A. Srikrishnan.
Session-7 The day was IMPORTING 3D MODELS AND MATERIALS by Dr. Venkat Alluri from 0936 hrs to 1126 hrs, which was a live demonstration session using Blender software.
Session-8 Next on it was a session regarding UNREAL ENGINE AND WORKING WITH CREATOR AVR by Dr. Pradyumna Panikker which was also a live demonstration session using Blender software from 1131 hrs to 1306 hrs.
Session-9 Further on was MAKING 3D DESIGN USING CREATOR AVR APP by Dr. Subhasis Bhaumik which was a theory cum hands-on session. This session was spilt into 2 sessions as the theory part by Dr. Subhasis Bhaumik from 1420 hrs to 1520 hrs and the hands-on part by Dr. Saptak Bhattacharya from 1521 hrs to 1653 hrs.
DAY – 4
Introduction of Speakers, Dr. Amit Kamra at 0935 hrs, Dr. Riyansh Buktar at 1134 hrs by Mr. A. Srikrishnan and Dr. Riyansh Buktar by Dr. Paladi Ravichandra Ganesh at 1419 hrs.
Session-10 The day began with HEAD MOUNTED DISPLAYS INTERFACES FOR VIRTUAL REALITY, LOCOMOTION, MANIPULATION by Dr. Amit Kamra from 0937 hrs to 1126 hrs, which was theory cum hands-on session and both were handled by Dr. Amit Kamra.
Session-11 The next step was on AUGMENTED REALITY/ VIRTUAL REALITY APPLICATIONS USING MATLAB by Dr. Riyansh Buktar from 1135 hrs to 1334 hrs was a pure theory session.
Session-12 The day ended with the topic on AUGMENTED REALITY/ VIRTUAL REALITY APPLICATION IN AUTOMOBILE ENGINEERING by Dr. Riyansh Buktar, too. This was too a theory session held from 1422 hrs till 1645 hrs.
DAY – 5
Introduction of Speakers, Dr. Vatsal Shah at 0939 hrs and* Dr. R. K. Sathia Bhama* at 1129 hrs by Mr. A. Srikrishnan.
Session-13 The day bloomed by Dr. Vatsal Shah with the topic on AUGMENTED REALITY/ VIRTUAL REALITY APPLICATION IN WELDING TECHNOLOGY from 0941 hrs to 1118 hrs.
Session-14 The next motivation and advice with the purpose of education on human life by Dr. R. K. Sathia Bhama on the topic AUGMENTED REALITY/ VIRTUAL REALITY APPLICATION IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING from 1130 hrs till 1318 hrs.
The 5 days AICTE ATAL FDP event ended with Welcome Address by Head of Mechanical Department Dr. K. Rajan at 1444 hrs, Special Address by Additional Admin Joint Registrar Dr. V. Cyril Raj at 1445 hrs, Valedictory Address by Chief Guest CEO of AksAns Technologies Mr. Sunil Kumar at 1450 hrs, Feedback from the participants, Mr. Rahul. M, Mr. Rahul Agarwal, Mr. M. Sathish Kumar, Ms. Archana Parashar, Dr. Anjana S. Chandran at 1458 hrs, Vote of Thanks by Additional Head of Mechanical Department Dr. K. R. Vijay Kumar at 1512 hrs and finally with 25 MCQs via Google Form for all the registered participant for time duration of 30 minutes
