We are glad to share the report of the National Level Symposium – KANITHAM 2025 organized by the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Humanities and Sciences on 13th November 2025 at the University Auditorium, Main Campus. The symposium aimed to foster Mathematical knowledge, promote Research aptitude, and provide a platform for students to exchange innovative ideas in the field of Mathematics and its applications.
The inaugural session commenced at 10:00 a.m. with Tamil Thai Vazhthu. The Welcome Address was delivered by Dr. T. Johnson, Head of the Department of Mathematics, followed by a presentation on the Genesis of KANITHAM by Mrs. Y. Sabithabanu, Assistant Professor and Department Event Manager.
The Chief Guest of the event, Dr. S. Dhanasekar, Associate Professor, Department of Mathematics, School of Advanced Sciences, VIT, Chennai, was introduced by Mrs.K.Bhavani, Research Scholar. In his Inaugural Address, Dr.S.Dhanasekar highlighted the importance of developing Analytical and problem-solving skills through participation in Academic events and emphasized the wide-ranging applications of Mathematics in the contemporary world.
The Guest of Honour, Dr. J. Sridevi, Dean, Humanities and Sciences, delivered the Special Address, encouraging students to actively engage in interdisciplinary learning and to apply Mathematical concepts to real-world challenges.
Following the inaugural session, several events were conducted, including Paper Presentation, Mathematical Modeling, Math Riddles, and Connections, with participation from various institutions. These events provided an opportunity for participants to showcase their knowledge, creativity, and innovative thinking.
After the end of the Events, the Valedictory Session commenced at 12:30 p.m. in the University Auditorium. Cash prizes and certificates were awarded to the winners and participants by the Chief Guest and Dean H&S. The Vote of Thanks was given by Dr. S. Gayathridevi, Event Coordinator & Associate Professor, Department of Mathematics, who expressed her gratitude to all the Dignitaries, Faculty members, and Participants for making the event a successful one.

Overall, KANITHAM 2025 served as a platform for intellectual exchange and academic enrichment, reinforcing the importance of Mathematics in research, innovation, and problem-solving. The symposium concluded successfully with active participation, insightful discussions, and a shared commitment to advancing Mathematical learning and excellence.
