Online seminar titled “MATH On AI” organized by the Department of Mathematics, Dr.MGR Educational and Research Institute, held on 10/12/2024. The Event was started at 2 pm. The welcome address was given by Dr.T. Johnson, Head, Department of Mathematics. The Chief Guest of the event, Dr.K.Anitha, Associate Professor, Department of Mathematics, Amrita School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Chennai, was introduced by Dr.A.Rathi, Associate Professor, Dept. of Mathematics.
In her talk, Dr.K.Anitha explained the Mathematical concepts behind the basics of Artificial intelligence. The talk gave a deep insight into the Mathematical concepts such as Linear algebra, Calculus, Probability and statistics and Optimization techniques which are adapted in Artificial intelligence and incorporated in the Applications of AI. She also gave hands on training with the Case study data using MATLAB software. The session was very active and interesting and it was really useful to all the participants to understand the MATH behind AI. The session was closed with the Closing thought “AI without Math is like a body without a backbone – structurally incomplete and functionally limited. The future of AI rests on our ability to harness the full potential of Mathematics”.
