Subject Lecture on “MODELS OF DISABILITY”

Subject Lecture on “MODELS OF DISABILITY” which was systematised by Faculty of Education, Dr. M.G.R Educational and Research Institute on 11th August 2023, 11:00 a.m. at K101 Smart Room, Phase II, Adayalampattu Campus with B.Ed. 2nd year students. The resource person of the day was Dr. A.Thangam, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Education, Dr.M.G.R Educational and Research Institute. She gave an intricate talk about the models of disability. She spotlighted disability as a consequence of health disease or caused by a trauma. She insisted that models of disability are tools for defining impairment and ultimately for providing a basis upon government and society, which can devise the strategies for fulfilling the needs of disabled people. She also notified some models of disability like medical, social, functional model etc., Hence, the session was so heartening. We express our sincere thanks to our Honourable President for granting us permission and providing all the requirements to organise the event. We also extend our gratitude to all the executives for their constant support and guidance.
