The Department of Information Technology & YUVA MGR CHAPTER organized a Professional society event on First Aid Awareness
In association with SLMC&H for the students of B.Tech-IT third year and final year on 21.07.2023 at University auditorium RA block main campus at 10.00 am.
The session was presented by Dr.M.Srimathi, MBBS, MD(Community medicine) and Dr.Rajsri, MBBS, MD (community medicine), Sri Lalithambigai Medical College.
The session started with a formal welcome address by Prof. Dr. N. Kanya, HOD-IT and an introduction about the chief guest by Ms.Harini, B.Tech IT third year.
Dr. Shrimathi in her speech has addressed about the different medical emergencies like fainting, injury, nasal bleed, fracture and seizures. She gave a brief idea about the warning signs and symptoms of all above medical emergencies, first aid process to be given and advised the students about what should not be done during emergency. She explained about the different types of injuries like cuts, eye injury, knocked out teeth, fracture and amputation. And explained about the causes for it and how to suspect it.
Dr.Rajshri, in her speech she has highlighted the emergency preparedness and the importance of calling the ambulance, rushing up to the hospital and insisted the students not to delay while emergency. She also taught the students about the first aid process to be taken during emergencies like bite, chocking and drowning.
Really it was a very needful and eye-opening session. To end the event, Ms.Infanta, B.Tech IT third year delivered the vote of thanks. All the students who attended the program were highly benefited.
