The Office of International Relations & Collaboration Cell is organising a six day JEC course. On successful completion of Day-5 (27.10.2022- Thursday) of Japanese Endowed Course (JEC), a joint governmental initiative of the Govt. of Japan and Govt. of India, we thank our Honorable President Er.A.C.S.Arunkumar for his support and encouragement to bring up this collaborative program.
The fifth day of the JEC Course had two practical training sessions in the Environmental lab of the Civil Engineering Department. The first session of the practical training was handled by Mr. Chibibharath P of Hiyoshi India. The students were demonstrated with weighing, pipette handling, burette operation. The importance of weighing accuracy and calculations were also discussed and students were given a chance to repeat the procedures.
The second session was handled by Mr.Panna Paul of Hiyoshi India. During this session, students were described about the Indian regulations and standards applicable to companies. The procedures to calculate the chemical parameters of water quality standards like pH, Total Alkalinity, Total Hardness and Sulphate were discussed and practically worked out.
The practical sessions were organised by Ms.V. Priyadarshini of Civil Engineering Department in the Environmental lab. The session was very interesting to the student as it dealt with the practical hands on experimentations. The students had a vivid exposure of handling and carrying out experiments with care and accuracy.
The session ended up at 1.15pm.
