The faculty of 1st yr B.Arch course organized an online guest lecture for the students of the same corresponding to their subject, History of Architecture -II. The Guest lecture was delivered by Ar.E.S. Dinesh Raghavan, an M.Arch professional and a Ph.D student whose research was based on “Analysis of construction techniques and materials of Chola period and their contemporary applications”.The lecturer is well versed in the field of History and has worked on various restoration projects of heritage structures, is much more experienced in the teaching field who has received Indira Gandhi Sadbhavna Gold medal award by GEPRA in Tamil Nadu.
Ar. Dinesh gave a brief lecture on the history of chola architecture temples, their method of construction and the materials used.
The session was very interactive as he took a very friendly approach and had a Q&A session at the end where he answered the students in approaching the history.
The overall feedback of the students was positive, and the students gained a fresh perspective to approach history.
