‘The mind is not a vessel to be filled but the fire to Ignited’ in order to ignite the young prospective teachers mind the Faculty of Education organised the second day Diksharambh- Student Induction Program by Ms.A.Mridhula, Asst. Prof., Saint Thomas College of Arts and Science, Chennai on 8.11.2021at 10.30 a.m. had an insight on ‘Application of Psychology Principles in Educational Settings’. The session started with a conginial welcome. The guest was welcomed with a brief introduction. The resource person detailed on the process of Psychological principles, 20 different mindsets, zone of proximal development , challenge the learning ability by open ended questions and after the assessment the feedback should be a positive remarks that induces the learning ability. Self regulations in the class have to be modelled by the teachers, to motivate the students to set two goals such as performance and mastery and to develop intrinsic and extrinsic knowledge. The session also highlighted on assertive language to be possessed by the teachers to interact with the students, to focus on all the levels of wellbeing of the students and finally about the formative and summative assessment through which one can draw the conclusion of the learning ability of the students. The session was informative and thus it triggered the anxiety of the students with many questions which was addressed by the guest patiently. The session came to an end with the vote of thanks.
