The Faculty of Humanities and Science, Department of English organized an Expert Talk on “Employability Skills” on 27th November 2023.
Ms. Sridevi Ravichandran, Career Strategy Coach and Founder, Shrishi Career Academy was invited to be the resource person. The objective of this expert talk was to equip the participants with the skills, knowledge, and attitude necessary to enhance their employability and succeed in the job market. The resource person provided participants
insights into current industry trends, employer expectations, and skills in demand. She
also addressed the importance of communication skills, teamwork, problem-solving and adaptability skills. Interactive activities helped the participants to gain deeper insights. The participants understood the importance of creating effective resumes highlighting key achievements and presenting their skills and experiences in a clear and concise manner. Further,she
elaborated the techniques for handling behavioral interviews and strategies to showcase one’s strengths and accomplishments. Finally, the participants had the opportunity to ask questions and gain valuable perspectives.
The event ‘Expert Talk’ was hosted by Ms. Timita John, II B.A., English. Dr. Mary Thomas, Dean, Department of English warmly welcomed the gathering and Ms. J. D. Aarthi, I B.A., English introduced the resource person to the audience. The vote of thanks was delivered by Ms. A. Harani, II B.A., English.
