We are delighted to share the report of the FIVE DAY INTERNATIONAL ONLINE FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME (Day 1) on ‘OUTCOME BASED EDUCATION’ which was organized by TamilNadu Teachers Education University in association with Dr. MGR Educational and Research Institute, Faculty of Education and Academic Staff College on 5th June, 2023 with nearly 487 participants joined in zoom meet and 911 participants joined through you tube link in session 1.
The Inaugural session started with a welcome address given by Prof.P.Ganesan, COE i/c, Tamil Nadu Teacher Education University at 10:30 a.m. The Inaugural address was given by Prof. N.Panchanatham, Former Vice Chancellor, TamilNadu Teachers Education University. The felicitation address was given by Dr.V.Radhika, Additional Registrar, Dr. MGR Educational & Research Institute.
The session 1 was chaired by Dr.Sohel Rana Sarkar, Assistant Professor, Hingalganj Mahavidyalaya, West Bengal on the topic “Outcome Based Education and its components: Vision, Mission and Programme Educational Objectives ” at 11:00 a.m. He highlighted Outcome Based Education, Definition, Principles, Important benefits, Components, Vision and mission of OBE, Programme Educational Objectives (PEO), Indigenous Model of Education , Education- Apara Vidya and Para Vidya, Quality of Education System. He made everyone to understand the OBE concepts very well. The session ended with vote of thanks.
The Day1 – Session 2 was chaired by Prof. Dr. Vinnaras Nithyanantham, UNICAF University, Cyprus on the topic “Bloom’s Taxonomy and Design of Learning Outcomes” at 2:00 p.m with nearly 451 participants via zoom meet and 900 participants in You Tube link. He highlighted the Revised Taxonomy (2001), The original model outlined six main categories, concepts and Tools, Blooms Digital Taxonomy for iPad, innovations, learning pyramid, Tips for constructing learning outcome, Pedagogical Innovation and Technology in education. The topic discussed will be of great benefit to the listeners in handling today’s classroom management and will surely be helpful for the teachers’ approach in their daily life. The session ended with vote of thanks. We pleased to express our deep sense of gratitude to our Honorable President Er. A.C.S. Arun Kumar for providing the opportunity to organize the event.
