Day 4 (1/4/25) focused on Madhubani Art and Tie & Dye Patchwork, offering participants a hands-on experience in traditional Indian art forms. The session began with an introduction to Madhubani Art, highlighting its intricate patterns, bold lines and vibrant colors. Participants learned to inscribe traditional motifs, mix acrylic paints effectively and apply black liner detailing to enhance their artwork. They also explored transforming painted fabrics into functional items like bags. Following this, the Tie & Dye Patchwork technique was introduced. The instructor demonstrated the resist dyeing process and patchwork composition, where dyed fabrics are cut into shapes and affixed to dark-colored cloth. Both activities were assigned as homework for further practice. By the end of the session, participants created vibrant Madhubani-inspired paintings and applied Tie & Dye Patchwork techniques, successfully blending heritage art with modern creativity.
Day 5 (2/4/25) focused on Tanjavur Art Fusion Painting, offering participants hands-on experience in blending traditional and contemporary artistic techniques. The session, conducted by Ms. Geetha, began with an introduction to Tanjavur Art, known for its rich colors, surface embellishments and depictions of deities. Participants selected Tanjavur paintings and inscribed them onto canvas boards, ensuring intricate details were accurately represented. She demonstrated techniques for creating striking backgrounds, effective color application, and the use of Fevicryl liners for embossing to add depth. Decorative elements like stones were added to replicate the grandeur of authentic Tanjavur paintings, with final border detailing to enhance the artwork’s aesthetic appeal. By the end of the session, participants successfully created Tanjavur Art Fusion Paintings, showcasing their ability to integrate traditional art with modern creativity.
Certificates were distributed to the participants by the concerned authorities, recognizing their dedication and achievements throughout the training.
