The Department of Defence and Strategic Studies today conducted a Guest Lecture Event on “Need for Disarmament in Contemporary Era” at Smart Classroom MT 204, from 11.00 am to 1.00 pm. The Department invited *Mr. Perunthamizh Kabilan N., Guest Lecturer, Dept of Defence and Strategic Studies, Govt. Arts College, Coimbatore” to deliver the Lecture and share his expertise on the topic for the day.
The Guest Lecture began with Tamizhthai Vazhthu followed with Welcome address by Mr. Shrinivasan B.-HoD DSS, and the Guest Speaker was introduced by Mr. Jibin PJ, Asst. Prof., Dept of Defence and Strategic Studies, and welcomed the august audience and felicitated the Guest Speaker.
The Guest Speaker covered the entire gamet Disarmament and Arms Control in an nuanced and precise manner covering all the way from the history and to the recent developments highlighting the arms race between nations across the world in becoming super powers both economically and militarily through modern weapons and weapons technology in contemporary era. The Guest Speaker also touched upon how nations are now working towards achieving global peace simultaneously aiming to achieve superiority through modernization in military affairs.
Mr. Dighvijay Sharma B., Asst. Prof. delivered the Vote of Thanks followed by National Anthem.
