We had an insightful National Science Day 2025 celebration at R A Block Auditorium on February 28, 2025 🎉. The event, themed “Sustainable Science: Protecting Our Planet”, featured engaging discussions on scientific advancements and environmental sustainability.

Ms. Preethika, 3rd-year B.Tech Biotechnology student, expertly compered the event, ensuring a smooth and engaging flow.

Dr. K. Gomathi, Head, Dept. of Biotechnology, delivered the welcome address, setting the stage for an enlightening session.

Ms. S. Sajitha, Assistant Professor, spoke about National Science Day, highlighting its significance in promoting scientific innovation.

Dr. S. Geethalakshmi, Vice Chancellor, felicitated the chief guest, appreciating his work in eco-friendly construction and emphasizing the importance of sustainable science in today’s world.

Dr. V. Cyril Raj, Additional Registrar, delivered a special address, discussing the Doom’s Day Fish and its implications for deep-sea ecosystems. He also explained how CO₂ pollution affects different atmospheric layers and deep waters, along with the role of the Webb satellite in monitoring environmental changes.

Dr. N. Ethiraj, Dean (E&T), spoke about pollution and wastewater treatment, emphasizing sustainable approaches to managing industrial and domestic waste.

Dr. M. Sridevi, Deputy Head, Dept. of Biotechnology, introduced the chief guest, highlighting his contributions to sustainable infrastructure.

Dr. Gunanandha Selvam, Managing Director, EcoBuildCorp Private Limited, delivered an insightful talk on time management and productivity, stressing the importance of efficiency and discipline in professional and academic life.

The event also saw enthusiastic participation from school students of Valliammal Matric Hr. Sec. School, who competed in various events. The prize distribution recognized winners in:

The program ended on a patriotic note with the National Anthem. 🇮🇳🎵
