“Role of Algebra in Real Life” organized by the Department of Mathematics, Dr.MGR Educational and Research Institute, on 29/1/2025. The Event was started at 2 pm. The welcome address was given by Dr .T. Johnson, Head, Department of Mathematics. The Chief Guest of the event, Dr. V. Vijayalakshmi, Associate Professor, Department of Mathematics, SRM Valliammai Engineering College, Chennai, was introduced by Mr.Rooban Sanjay, Research Scholar, Dept. of Mathematics.
In her talk, Dr. V. Vijayalakshmi explained the basic concepts in Algebra and different types of algebra along with its applications. She gave a deep explanation on how Algebra is used in Science and Technology, Medicine, Sports, Architecture and Construction etc . Further, the talk gave a theoretical and practical insight knowledge in Linear algebra, Abstract algebra and Boolean algebra. Finally, the Questions raised by the participants were answered by the speaker. Vote of thanks was given by the Event Coordinator, Ms. A .Viola, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Mathematics.
