Department of Mathematics, Dr. M. G. R. Educational and Research Institute is happy to share the report of “Srinivasa Ramanujan Day Celebrations – 2024” held on 19-12-2024 at University Auditorium, Main campus. The Program started at 11.30 am with Tamil Thai vazthu. Welcome address was given by Dr. T. Johnson, HOD, Department of Mathematics. The Chief Guest of the Program, Prof. Dr. S. Ramalingam, Joint Registrar -Languages, Dr. M. G. R. Educational and Research Institute was introduced by , Mr. S. K. Roopan Sanjai, Research scholar Dept. of Mathematics. The Chief Guest had delivered an informative talk which motivates the student participants to understand the Importance of Mathematics. A Series of Events, namely (i) Poster Presentation (ii) Essay writing competition with the topic “Pride of India- Srinivasa Ramanujan”, (iii) Drawing Competition with the topic “Srinivasa Ramanujan” and, (iv) Quiz on Basics of Mathematics were conducted for celebrating the National Mathematics Day (Birth anniversary of Srinivasa Ramanujan) by the Department of Mathematics. Around 150 first year students from various disciplines of our Institution were registered and participated actively. The Chief Guest gave the Cash prizes and certificates to the Winners and Participants of the above events announced by Mrs. C. Finil Jophila & Mr.A.Iyyappan, Event Coordinators, & Dr. A. Rathi, Associate Professor. The program ended with vote of thanks given by Dr. S. Kopperundevi, Event Coordinator, Professor, Department of Mathematics.
Our heartfelt gratitude to our Honorable President Sir, for his Support and encouragement to conduct this type of Events. We extend our thanks to all the Executives for their continuous support rendered throughout our endeavor. We thank the Department faculty coordinators for their coordination to conduct the Events successfully. We also thank Mrs.Y.Sabitha banu, Event Manager, Dept. Of Mathematics for her coordination. We also thank Ms. S. Priyadarshini , Research Scholar for compering the Event and Mr.Roopan Sanjai, Research Scholar for his coordination. And finally we thank all the participants who have made this event a grand success.
