The Faculty of Humanities and Science, Department of English organized a day-long educational expedition to the Government Museum Egmore on 28/10/2024 for an enriching Art with Literature experience. Students from III B.A. English and I B.A English joined this event, accompanied by Dr.A.Anitha, Professor, Head of the Department , Dr. Julie Elizabeth, Deputy Head of Academic , along with Assistant Professors Ms. Bhuvaneshwari, Ms. S.Magdelene Percy, Ms.Ponkavitha and Ms. Sangavi.
The purpose of this expedition was to immerse students in the Museum’s vast and diverse collection, linking historical artifacts and works of art with literary themes. During the visit, students were assigned specific themes to explore and reflect on, fostering a deeper appreciation of the intricate relationship between visual arts and literature. This provided students an invaluable opportunity to view first-hand resources that support their academic projects. The visit was a highly educational experience to underscore the significance of interdisciplinary studies and the impact of cultural artifacts on academic development.
