We are thrilled to present the report of the inaugural session held on the first day for B.Ed. I year students, organized by the Faculty of Education, Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute on 23/09/24.
The inauguration session began with a serene prayer, seeking blessings for wisdom and knowledge. The principal welcomed the new batch with enthusiasm, emphasizing the pivotal role of the B.Ed. course in shaping competent and compassionate educators. She spoke about the significance of teachers as agents of change, not just imparting knowledge, but also nurturing critical thinking, values, and holistic development in students. She elaborated on the comprehensive curriculum, which is meticulously designed to equip students with essential pedagogical skills, classroom management techniques, and a deep understanding of educational psychology. The course also includes practical training sessions, internships, and workshops that provide real-world teaching experience. She encouraged students to engage actively in all aspects of the program and to embrace every opportunity to grow both professionally and personally. She stressed that becoming a teacher is not just about mastering the art of teaching, but also about inspiring and empowering future generations to achieve their fullest potential. Faculty members introduced themselves, sharing their expertise and commitment to supporting the students. The session concluded with encouraging words from the staff, wishing the students a successful academic journey and a bright future as educators.
