The Department of Fashion Design, Adayalampattu Phase II Campus, Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute organized an One Day Industrial Visit to Dakshina Chitra on 23.02.2024.
35 Students from Final Year and Second Year B.Sc.(Fashion Design) took part in the Industrial Visit along with 3 faculty members Ms.M.Mahmuda Begum, HoD Fashion Design, Ms.S.Rajarajeshwari and Ms.Anupama from the Department of Fashion Design.
Students got opportunity to experience the weaving process in the loom, they interacted with the weavers and clarified their doubts. Students also learnt about the vibrant art Kalamkari and the natural dyes and mordants used to make intricate kalamkari painting.
