“Gender Equality must become a lived reality “
The Faculty of Law has scheduled a program for March 8, 2024, from 9.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. at the conference hall, phase 2 Campus, DR.MGRERI, on the International Women’s Day celebration. The event’s topic is gender equality, which is the UN’s fifth Sustainable Development Goal. Prof.Dr.B.Pankaja, Professor, FOL who chaired today’s commemoration, opened the program by highlighting the ailments that women deal on a daily basis. She also included some crucial information about the idea of notional extension in situations of sexual harassment. The Dean Dr.K.Murugadoss gave heartfelt greetings to every participant who participated in the event and secured wards. By accentuating the significance of the event, he emphasized its importance.
Dr. R. Padmapriya, an associate professor at the MGR Faculty of Law, introduced the speaker. She enumerated the many accomplishments of today’s guest speaker. The distinguished speaker, Ms. Bhamathi IAS (RETD), former secretary of the Government of India, New Delhi, and a former member of the Central Administrative Tribunal, Chennai bench. The beloved chief guest highlighted the importance of preventing the child marriage and rape cases occurring in daily life as well as the growing trend of gender inequality in all fields by enlisting the various legislation relying upon it.
We were very amazed by the way she interacted with the youngsters. She emphasized the empowerment of women and conveyed the real reality of how difficult it is for women to get positions in any sector of our society. The chief Guest’s declaration that the women in the hall were on par with the males was made possible by the professors and students supporting one another throughout the prize-giving ceremony, which was the focal point of the program. She imprinted the escalating efforts of women’s empowerment. First-year students put on a Tamil speech and dance performance, which strengthened their bond and made this day unforgettable. Mrs. Harini Shree, Asst.Professor presented a vote of thanks to who contributed to the success of the event.
