Report of the Subject lecture on Women’s Literature, organized by the Department of English held on 30/08/2023.
The speaker of the session was – Dr. V. Anuradha, Associate Professor, Department of English, Dean Admissions ( Bihar, West Bengal & Assam) Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute.
At the outset of the subject lecture, a welcome address was delivered by Ms. Zulfath Tanazilla of II B. A. English.
Followed by this, Dr. A. Anitha, Head Department of English rendered an inspiring opening address.
The session was taken over by Dr. V. Anuradha, speaker of the day. The session gave an overview of Women’s literature. The session ventured into a broad spectrum of what, why, characteristics, genres, themes, top women writers of India, characteristics of feminist literature, accomplishments of female literary figures in Women’s literature.
The lecture was followed by an interactive session with the students. A platform was provided for the students of I B.A, II.B.A, II M.A English to share their views on societal norms imposed upon women.
The session came to an end with the vote of thanks delivered by Ms.Shobanalakshmi
of II B. A. English.
