The Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized Cyber Crime Awareness Program on How to protect ourselves from Online Threats for Staff and students on 17-11-2022.
Thejaswathy from 3rd-year CSE(DS&AI) hosted the event and a Welcome note was given by her.
Dr.G.Gopalakrishnan(Pro vost) ,Dr.V.CyrilRaj(Additional Registrar) and Dr.S.Geetha HoD/CSE addressed the Program to proceed.
Thejaswathy gave the introduction about our Chief Guest Mrs.P.Santhi Devi(Inspector of Police), Mr.S.Gopinathan(Sub Inspector of Police), Mr.R.Nirmal Raj(Sub Inspector of Police), Cyber Crime Police Station(West Zone), Anna Nagar, Chennai.
The Session started with How To prevent data breaches and phishing attacks, Social Media Dangers, EB frauds, Matrimonial Frauds, Credit Card scams, Olx scams, Crypto investment scams, Phishing by sending links, etc. College staff & students can protect themselves online by understanding internet safety trends, keeping their devices’ software up-to-date, and limiting risky behaviors like oversharing personal information, downloading software from unverified sources, or visiting illegal sites.
