The Office of International relations from Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute in collaboration with the Japan organization Hiyoshi Ecological Services is organizing a JEC Course for six days. Being Day 2 (14.10.2022), The Students had a wonderful session where they gathered knowledge about different types of environmental issues faced in today’s scenario.Intially with a topic – India’s Environmental problems and current situation with economy, business activities presented by Mrs BiniMylin Jairish the Assistant prof from Department of Civil Engineering followed by Dr.C Priya Associate prof from Department of Biotechnology who presented the contribution of biomedical waste in polluting the mother earth.Both the speakers imparted deep knowledge about the environmental pollutants followed by a great interaction with students. Moving to next theme Indian environmental law 1 & 2 was taken by two faculty members named Mrs. Tanmayee Panigrahi, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering and B.A.Mookambika, Associate Professor, Faculty of Architecture.The third session was handled by Dr. P. UdhayaKala, Dean Chemistry, Deputy Director CIQA in the topic – Laws and regulations specifically applicable to companies.All the speakers presentations were very informative for the need of an hour for our society which was well defined to the attended students.Later Mr.Naohiro Tuskiyama from Japan explained with examples about environmental measures required for global companies which was well observed by all the students and interacted with them vibrantly.On behalf of Department of International and relations and department of Biotechnology , we extend our heartfelt thanks to our Honourable President Er.
