The design faculty of 3rd year B. Arch course organized a case study visit for the students of the same corresponding to their design project, Hospital Design, as a part of their first project of their design studio. The Case study was guided by the Chef Engineer under the supervision of Ar. Praveen Kumar E, Design Director of Apollo group of hospitals. The supervisor is well versed in the field of Hospital Design having completed the design of many hospitals under the Apollo group, and being currently practicing in the field of both architecture and teaching profession, he was able to explain every aspect of design and building services involved in hospital design to the students.
The session was very interactive as he took the students to every part of the hospital and explained every feature of the hospital. He also gave students tips on how to design a hospital, and what to pay attention to while designing. He encouraged the students to ask questions directly as he was explaining, thereby having a lively interactive Q&A session in every space visited in the hospital.
The overall feedback of the students was overwhelmingly positive, and the students gained a fresh perspective not only on the different aspects of planning involved in the design of the hospital, but also on the how to take an integrated approach to the design involving the different services involved in the functioning of a full functional and efficient hospital.
