The Faculty of Education is extremely ecstatic and enraptured to share the report of ISR event community service – A visit to ‘ANANDAM OLD AGE HOME’ at Ambattur on 16-08-2022 at 10:00 a.m. with B.Ed students.
We were greeted with kindness and warmth by the members of the trustee. The day was started with a brief introduction about how the home was started and the struggles faced by them by Mrs Bhageerathi Ramamurthy and also introduced all other trustees Mr.K.Narayanan, Mr Rajkumar, Mr P A Balakrishnan and Mr S Ramamurthy.
We were taken to the school for special children after seeing the facilities, we were provided with the lunch prepared by them.
We interacted with the old people who were in the hall to break their monotony. Our students entertained programs like dance and solo singing for them.
Our Management and students of Dr.M.G.R ERI contributed fund to the old age home for the good cause. The trustee utilized the amount for ‘ANNADHANAM’ on 17.8.22. Finally after the program we all got blessings from the elders.
According to Shakespeare, old age is the age where the person behaves like a child, again we witnessed the same, people of old age were very compatible and friendly. They treated our whole day with beautiful smiles. The day turned out to be fruitful and happy. The time spent with them gives us a lifetime lesson and experience. So finally we thank our President Er ACS Arun Kumar sir for the financial support and all the other executives for giving us such a great opportunity to get experience and a chance to mingle with them.
