Five Day Virtual International Faculty Development Programme on ‘Research Methodology’ at 2.00 pm on 21st June 2022, began in earnest with 653 participants from all over the world, including India, Algeria, Ghana, Sri Lanka, and Nigeria, who had joined us via the virtual platforms Zoom and YouTube live.
The resource person Mr.R.Vivekanantharasa, Lecturer, Department of Secondary and Tertiary Education, Faculty of Education, The Open University of Sri Lanka, made a clear picture of Research, philosophical aspects of research and research methodology the important components in research. He elaborated on the need, importance and characteristics of good qualitative research. Different methods of data collection, the important points to be kept in mind during data collection were stressed as data collection in qualitative research deals with the experience and emotions of the respondent. The ways to interpret the data using qualitative tools were mentioned and it was really an eye-opening session on Qualitative Research Methodology.
