The faculty of 2nd yr B.Des course organized an online workshop for the students of the same corresponding to their subject, Computer Applications in Design -II. The Workshop was conducted by Ar. Mohammed Yasar Arafath, Principal architect and Design Consultant, on Design Softare “RHINO”, along with the pliug-in, “Grasshopper”. The lecturer is well versed in the field of 3D Design, and having worked in a prestigious German design firm, is much more experienced in the designs of complex shapes and forms.
Ar. Arafath gave a brief lecture on the scope of Designing using Rhino+Grasshopper, delving into the details of how algorithms and parameter variations affect the shape and form of the design, and the different kinds of techniques and methods used.
The session was very interactive as he took a very friendly and amicable approach with the students, going beyond the scope of his topic, to give students tips on how best to learn this software in terms of design, and had a Q&A session at the end where he answered the students on different ways of using this software in their design project.
The overall feedback of the students was positive, and the students gained a fresh perspective not only on how to use this software, but also on parametric design.
