The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in association with IEEE MGR Student Chapter and Office of International Relations & Collaboration Cell organized an International Conference on Electric Vehicle and Engineering in Medical Science-ICEVEMS on 23.11.2021 and 24.11.2021. The International Conference was conducted through Streamyard studio and aired live in EEE Official YouTube Channel. The Conference was framed with 4 technical sessions.
The objective of the ICEVEMS was to provide a world-class platform for the participants to acquire ideas and experience through virtual mode. In addition, it will help the participants to establish the latest research and results of scientists in E-Vehicle and their impact in future scope, Engineering in medical science research as well as to find an international linkage for future collaborations in their career path.
The first day of the Conference started with an inaugural function with an inaugural note by Vice Chancellor, Dr.S. Geethalakshmi madam which was followed by the felicitation address delivered by Dr.V.Cyril Raj, Additional Registrar. The welcome address was delivered by Dr.S. Bhuvaneswari, HoD/EEE.
The technical session on day 1, session 1 started at 10.00 a.m. The Speaker was Dr. Kesavan Bhubalan, Head of Marine Biology Program, Faculty of Science and Marine Environment, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu who presented on the topic “Application of Polyhydroxyalkanoate as Adjuvant in Triggering Immune Response against Haemorrhagic Septicaemia”. The Speaker was introduced by Dr.K. Sujatha, Dean-Consultancy.The speaker presented on his research work on the usage of biomaterials like Polyhydroxyalkanoate and biodegradable materials which are used in medical applications especially in vaccines for livestocks and how they were treated using the Polyhydroxyalkanoate polymers against Haemorrhagic Septicaemia. The session ended with Q & A session.
The session 2 of day 1 started at 2.00 p.m.The speaker of the session was Dr. Salisa Abdul Rahman, Associate Professor, Deputy Dean (Academic and Student Affairs), Faculty of Ocean Engineering Technology and Informatics, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu. Dr.R.Sivanand, Asst. Prof/EEE introduced the speaker. Dr.Salisa discussed on her research topic entitled “Development of Intelligent Driving cycle system to evaluate the energy consumption and emissions for Payang water taxi and bas kite driving cycles”. She explained about the new methodology implemented for electric vehicles where a smart and intelligent real time monitoring and control system on Payang water taxi and Bas kite driving cycle was incorporated whereby the energy consumption and emission analysis using the proposed cycle has improved compared to the conventional method. She concluded that the proposed driving cycle can be implemented for hybrid electric vehicle power train(HEV) to overcome exhaust emissions and fuel consumption. The session ended with Q & A session.
The technical session on day 2, session 1 started at 10.00 a.m. The Speaker was Mr. Sathiyalingam Kannaiyan, Research Scholar, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST). The Speaker presented on the topic “Recent progress in Magnesium Ion battery”. The speaker was introduced by Ms. Sankari, Asst. Prof/EEE. The speaker discussed about various batteries that are presently implemented in various applications. He also explained about the merits and demerits of Lithium ion battery and the alternate metals used in batteries like Magnesium ion, etc. He elaborated on various metals that can be used as anodes and cathodes in batteries. The session concluded with queries from the participants which were cleared by the speaker.
The technical session on day 2, session 2 started at 02.00 p.m. Dr. Mahajan Sagar Bhaskar,
IEEE Senior Member (USA), Associate Editor of IET Power Electronics (UK), Topic Editor of MDPI Electronics (Switzerland), Asst. Professor, Renewable Energy Lab, Dept. of Communications and Networks Engg., College of Engineering, Prince Sultan University, Riyadh 11586, Saudi Arabia.
