The Day-4 session 1 (09.00 am to 10.00 am)Program was hosted byDr.R.Kowsalya – Dean OIR & Collaboration Cell, Dr.MGR University.participants were 4 instructors and 10 students of the JEC.
Session 1 was handled by Mr. Kazuhiko Matsui,Hiyoshi corporation Japan and translated by Mr.Sundaram . on survey and Outline of wastewater treatment. Salient points were impact of water pollution from production , corporate activities, characteristics and counter measures of industrial waste water,domestic waste water treatment.Also water treatment in textile and metal industries explained with detailed block diagram. Further the necessity of wastewater treatment as a water pollution countermeasure carried out by enterprises were discussed. The following are introduced : Production process, type of wastewater, treatment form of wastewater (STP and ETP, concept tank and sewage), and main treatment method for each wastewater. (sedimentation separation, flotation separation, activated sludge, membrane separation, filtration).Primary,secondary and tertiary treatments were illustrated.

The session was handled by was handled by Mr. Kazuhiko Matsui,Hiyoshi corporation Japan and translated by Mr. Sundaram . on Wastewater treatment principle and treatment equipment , methods and outlines like SBR,MBR AND SLUDGE,Introduction to physical treatment (precipitation, flotation and separation), biological treatment (microbial treatment, DO, etc.), scientific treatment (flocculation, redox and adsorption), and typical equipment (screen, oil/water separation equipment, flocculation sedimentation equipment, biological treatment equipment (including carrier, etc.), membrane separation equipment, and filtration equipment).BOD AND COD also discussed.
Report on Dr MGR – Hiyoshi Japanese Endowed Course (JEC): Day 4(13.11.21) – Session 3 (11.50 – 01.15pm)
In session 3, Mr. Kazuhiko Matsui, Hiyoshi corporation Japan, handled and translated by Mr. Sundaram on Improvement of Measures case study and need for operation and maintenance, calculation of treatment, CAS, MBR, membrane cartridge, improvement due to consultation and case of cost, concrete product manufacturing implications, treatment of hexavalent chromium, purpose and control of waste water treatment were detailed. check list preparation for equipment, automatic monitoring and notification systems and semiconductor cleaning waste water and explanation of the necessity of Operation and Maintenance in response to the new Indian standard regulations were discussed (BOD ,T-N).Question regarding doubts were cleared.
