Dr MGR ERI Parent Teacher Association and Faculty of Education is immensely pleased to share the report of a talk on ‘Reverse Swing- Stratagem for Adapting Offline Class’ by Dr. Manoj Kumar Head, Dept. of Psychology, Dr. MGR, ERI on 11.10. 2021 at 6.00pm in order to provide a forum in tailoring the relationship of parent and teachers. The session began with an invocation Tamil Thai Vazhthu. The Vice President of PTA was introduced by Ms. L. Maria Suganthi, Asst. Prof. to welcome the august gathering. Dr. P. Udhayakala, Dean, Dept. of Chemistry welcomed the virtual audience bylingually to create a rapport with the parents. Ms.J. Vigneshwari, Asst. Prof. introduced and welcomed Dr Malini Pande, President of PTA, Addl. Registrar, Planning and Development, Humanities and Science for the Inaugural Address. President of PTA Dr. Malini Pande in her inaugural address highlighted the motto of our university that the students should not be the job seekers instead they should be the job creators. She also emphasised about the beauty and legacy of Tamil language and finally insisted on entrepreneurship. The Senior Vice President of PTA Dr Felix Kala was introduced by Dr. V.Anuradha, Asst. Prof. for the keynote address. Dr. Felix Kala Joint Registrar, student affairs Dr. MGR ERI addressed about the problems faced by the students and how that has to be sorted out as a teacher as well as a parent. Dr. K.Geetha, Convenor of Parent Teacher Association was introduced by Dr.V. Anuradha and welcomed for felicitation address. Dr. K.Geetha, Principal, Faculty of Education on her felicitation address highlighted the objectives of the parent teacher association and its initiative and the action that has to be taken through this association in order to build a good rapport between students teachers and the institution. Resource person of the day Dr. Manoj Kumar, Head, Dept. of Psychology was introduced by Dr. Senthamizh Pavai, Asst. Prof., and requested to enthrall the session. Dr Manoj Kumar, Head, Dept. of Psychology, Dr MGR ERI addressed about the prepandamic and postpandamic behaviour of the students, advantages and disadvantages of online classes, social media addiction of students and how to overcome that by practicing with perciverance. Some insights on psychological preparation for parents to guide their ward by giving some parenting tips by making their children responsible and making them complete their tasks assigned by keeping an eye of what they are doing. The session was informative for the parents and they were able to connect with the thoughts of the speaker. The gratitudinal note was proposed by Dr. V.Anuradha, Asst.Prof. and finally the session came to an end by saluting the nation through National Anthem.
